Progress

So, we spent all of this morning and a good bit of this afternoon finishing up the painting. As you can see from the photos, the room is now half "Something Blue" and half "Regale Blue" - fancy! Next weekend, Mom and Dad Black will be visiting, and Mom will be helping to hang the wallpaper border - she's much better at that kind of thing than either of us (thanks Mom!). We've also included a picture of the wallpaper border, which matches all of the bedding.

The furniture should be arriving any day (or week) now, and we're anxious to see it in the painted room. Although it may seem like we are completing these preparations early, the next two months will be very busy with travel and baby classes. So, we're happy to accomplish so much now.

We will post more pictures as the nursery becomes more complete.

The Nursery - Part One

We ordered furniture for the baby's room several weeks ago. It should be in in the next month or so, so we've started painting the room in order to get it ready. The bedding we've picked out is called "Scooter" by Cocalo. It's a transportation-themed set with cars, trucks and airplanes. We picked out two shades of blue and are painting one above and one below the wallpaper border (you can see where we tested the two colors in the picture). As you'll see from the pics, we've only made some progress with the lower, darker color.

Daddy's little helper:

Considering the birth is still 4 months away, can you imagine how much stuff this baby will have?!

More to come....

About Baby Milstein

We had our anatomy scan on July 31st, when the baby was 19 weeks and 4 days. As you know by now, we learned that the baby is a boy! We were and are so excited. Although we would have been thrilled with either a boy or girl, I had suspected from the beginning that he was a boy. So, it was nice to have my intuition confirmed (of course, I did have a 50% chance of being right!).

We also learned that the baby was about 10 oz. and 9 inches from head to toe. At my 21 week appointment, I learned that he is at the 51st percentile - I believe not too big, not too small! All of the baby's anatomy looked as expected, and he is a very active baby.

I have been feeling movement for a few weeks now. I think that I've been feeling him for quite a while, but at first, I felt the movement so infrequently, I wasn't sure that it was the baby I was feeling. So far, he seems to move a lot more during the day, so I'm hoping that means he actually will sleep at night!

And then there were five....

So, I've been wanting to try out this blogging thing, but wasn't sure that I had anything to say of interest! I'm still not sure, but I'm trying it out anyway! So, that's why it took me until now to start.

The impetus for starting our family blog came from the fact that we are expecting! We're having a baby boy, due December 21st. Our furbabies, Rocco and Ollie, are not quite sure yet what's happening, but we can tell that they are suspecting some change, what with the moving around of furniture and Mommy's belly growing by the day.

We'll try to regularly post updates of the pregnancy progression, nursery prep, and any other semi-interesting information we may have.
